| F&I-13 | "The Sachem" Ottawa Medicine Man, 1755, 1/6th scale resin bust sculpted by Terry Karselis.
This art represents a Medicine man of the Ottawa tribe in the mid-18th century during the French & Indian War. He might have been a friend to Chief Pontiac the warrior who sided with the French against the English, attempting to drive them out of North America. His braves would have fought with French Canadian half breed Michelle de Langlade who led the Shawnee and Mingo Indian allies of the French at Braddock's defeat on the Mahongahala, or with the Marquis de Montcalm at the Battle of Fort William Henry. He represents the typical medicine man to the Woodland Indian tribe warrior. |
