HS 9402 Ivy leaves (comes with "stems" to create ivy)

Directions -

Hudson and Allen Ivy is a combination of natural and synthetic materials which come in natural colors thus eliminating the need for painting. You may , of course paint any of the materials in this kit to suit your own application. In the "real world", ivy and other vines are usually found climbing up trees or fence posts, and often climb up buildings where they can quickly cover entire walls. From modeling standpoint, they can be effective in blending structures into the scenic background. Although vines do creep along the ground, the most dramatic effect is achieved when modeled "climbing"
The Ivy may be assembled using any of the usually available hobby glues, we find the "white glues" are the easiest to use and generally give the best results.

HS 9505 Pine boughs

Hudson & Allen Pine Boughs are a natural material which can be used to create realistic camouflage on miniature military vehicles and dioramas.  It can be used to represent coniferous foliage in a number of scales.  The material is non-toxic and comes ready to use with no painting required. H&A Pine Boughs look great when placed on armoured vehicles, especially in dioramas presenting Normandy, the Ardennes or other European battles.  Wartime photos show pine boughs liberally attached to German armored vehicles with rope or wire in an effort to avoid detection by allied fighter-bombers (with only limited success).  Pine Bough can also be used to camouflage static positions such as bunkers, mortar and gun emplacements.  Incredibly lifelike pine trees can be built by inserting this material into the holes drilled into a shaped and textured wooden trunk.

HS 9506 Hay

Directions -

This product allows you to model realistic looking hay in your dioramas. H&A hay consists of grasses and legumes and can be used in and around farm buildings, wagons, and carts. It can also be used to camouflage vehicles or gun emplacements in your dioramas. Many wartime photographs show dug-in anti-tank guns camouflaged with hay when deployed in open fields. In some cases entire tanks were hidden in haystacks.

H&A hay can be scattered or piled into position and then secured in place by using diluted white glue. When modeling haystacks you may wish to first build a mound out of wood or Styrofoam, cover with white glue, and then sprinkle with hay to create a very realistic haystack.

HS 9712 Foliage

Directions -

In developing this product , H&A tried to offer the modeler an alternative to ground foam or photoetched products. Foliage is the term used to describe the leaves of growing plants, or plant leaves collectively. This has always been difficult to model and as a result, some modelers avoid it completely. This foliage is a natural product similar to that used in  IVY (9402) and FOREST LITTER (9403), but somewhat coarser in size. It has not only a leaf-like shape, but has dimensional surface detail. Although it is already dyed green, you may add color variations with almost any commonly available paints.
The "Foliage"  may be affixed to branch structures with common white glue or spray adhesive. For branch structures, try using dried flowers such as Caspia or Sweet Annie. Plant roots can also be used and can be quite long lasting if treated with water and glycerin mixture.
