Randy's comments:
"The first is the New World Miniatures
Saipan Marine in 120mm. I painted him with enamels, and created the scenic
base with plaster and Woodland Scenics grass. I made the captured Japanese
flag from a strip of cotton hanky. The "rising sun" and "words" were
hand-drawn with an ink marker, then it was dirtied up and glued into
position in his hand.
The next one is Andrea's "Comrades in
Arms". This piece has done well for me in contests, and is painted with
enamels.
The snow base was made from plaster and
Andrea "snow". The figures are 54mm metal.
Third is the Young Miniatures "Sioux
Indian Elder" bust in 200mm. Painted with enamels (all my work is done with
Humbrol and Testors enamels), and I particularly enjoyed the beadwork.
Finally, photos 4 and 5 are the "Moment In
Time" vignette by Michael Roberts. I mostly followed the box art, but added
my own scenic enhancements. This consisted of Woodland Scenics grass, a few
pieces of dried floral, Hudson & Allen leaves, and Andrea resin water. What
a great piece it was to work with!'
Many thanks Randy for the brilliantly done
contributions!
